Saif Khan - Art Director
Originally studying to be a comic artist, Saif Khan instead
moved his focus to majoring in advertising design at Tulsa
Technology Center, Lemley Campus in Oklahoma. For most graphic
designers, the two roads to take are either working for an ad
or related agency, or trying to start a freelance business.
Instead, Saif chose a third approach. By combining his talents
with a team solid in technical as well as administrative skills,
he comprises the creative core of Toydrum, allowing him to shine
in his areas of expertise. Saif has an eye for detail and an
artistic touch which together give him a natural sense of what
is aesthetically appealing.
What is it that you feel you bring to Toydrum?
Creativity. While it's a career choice of deadlines and pressures
to achieve things in a short time - for me this also means having
fun and getting to work at the same time, throwing my 'all' into a
project and loving every minute of it - and knowing that it's
design is dependant on our talents. This is something both I and
Toydrum both bring together though; a great thing because our mutual
creations are not products of some sad lax guidelines sent down the
corporate chain by a board that knows nothing of current trends or
design basics.
Being creative is just one of the things I've done best all my life;
it's what I do and focus on, whether random and fun - through working
on lawyer's sites to then working on steel fencing company's sites
and brochures, the mix ups and challenges; it's what I thrive on.
What does it mean to you, to be the Art Director of Toydrum?
Bringing my adaption and love of so many mediums of design, to both
our clients but our corporate image.
What do you enjoy most about Toydrum?
Doing what I enjoy - for a living. Design and application challenges
every day, constant trend watching - a key part of our successes, and
creativity with real freedom to be who I am in a corporate environment,
and a constant technical feel through that comes from being positioned
where Toydrum is currently. Really it's hard to say in the mess of
freedoms, advancing design trends, communion among fellow designers
and creative's, what specific thing I enjoy most - there are just too
many things I enjoy that Toydrum brings to me personally. |
