African American Women in Business
One of the oldest and most respected print publications in Green Country,
the Oklahoma Eagle is truly making its mark in the 21st century. Toydrum
has been working with the Oklahoma Eagle to improve the efficiency of its
printing process, finding new and creative ways to present featured content,
and break down barriers in working with other minority and alternative
publications.
The African American Women in Business publication was designed as a special
issue for the Oklahoma Eagle Newspaper in 2002. Today Toydrum is working
with Broken Arrow's Tag Team Marketing to develop materials and resources
for the newly-formed African American Women Business Owners Association
(AAWBOA). Since the beginning of 2006, over 70 business owners have
participated in the last three Gatherings, held at strategic locations
around the community to allow African American women business owners to get
to know each other in a more personal as well as professional way.
